Who is This Event For?
Members of the Next Generation who have or will be receiving money either through a liquidity event or inheritance AND parents, relatives, couples and Trustees who are ready to have significant and supportive conversations around this topic
Join us for a Dinner Conversation around the meaning and impact of money in our lives.
We’ll begin with a panel discussion on how others learned about their inheritance, and the impact it has had on their lives. We’ll hear about how this knowledge affected the decisions they made around money, friendship, dating, and family. We’ll talk about what it means to be a good steward and to take on the responsibilities of wealth.
We’ll then delve into exploring and identifying our unique values, our priorities, and how to use this new awareness to influence the personal choices and decisions we make.
Through a series of exercises, we’ll look at:
- How we respond to requests for money.
- How we decide to give money away, and how we determine the intention behind these gifts.
You’ll have an opportunity to work with your peers. We’ll divide everyone into two groups: the Next Generation and the
Parents/Relatives/Trustees. We’ll then come back together and share with each other what we learned.
The ability for different generations to learn from each other can be invaluable. How were your responses similar? How were they different? What questions arose, remained

- Knowledge of your top core values
- Experience handling a friend’s request for money
- Insight into the process of passing on money. (What were the intentions behind your gift, what questions might the recipient have had, and are you accomplishing what you had hoped for?)
- Awareness of how one might begin designing values-based family meetings
